Harry James Tweed
--  American Legion Post 184 Commander For 8 Years now.....

  email  harry401s47@comcast.net

Hello and welcome to the web site of the Byron Pennington Croker American
Legion Post #184!  My name is Harry Tweed and I have been Commander since 2002.

Whenever I tell someone that I am the Commander it gives me such a rush of pride
because of the fantastic post we have.  We have the greatest bunch of men and women
you could ever ask for in one organization!  My officers all work together perfectly and
every task gets handled quickly and professionally every time.  Our membership always
supports and backs all new ideas and are always ready to help.

We have a great little canteen and very sociable bartenders, just make sure to talk loud!  Our Ladies Auxiliary, although small, is always there to help when we need them, and add to them our chefs Steve and Hazel MacDonald and all of our parties and luncheons are second to none in the food category!

And finally, the greatest thing we do, thanks to Bill Mitchell pushing for us to install the Pull-Tab machines back in January 1, 2000, we give away lots of money!

Since the first dollar went in the machine over a million have followed, we make
approximately 25% of the take and as of January 2008 we have given almost $350,000
in donations to veterans, fire, police, scouts, youth baseball, endless charities, and
hundreds of sick and needy people in Cape May County.  All of our donations stay
local except for some veterans causes.

So thanks for stopping in!  Our man Jim Ernest does a fabulous job here on this
site!  And, if you have never been to our post, our arms are wide open to welcome you!

For God and Country
